What makes a reliable AV production company?
A reliable AV production company owns its equipment and crew, follows a repeatable process, and builds in backups so a single fault never stops an event. Eagles AV works exactly this way: our own tested gear, our own trained technicians, and a proven process from first brief to post-event report. One team is accountable for everything.
There are two kinds of company you can hire for event AV. One owns its equipment, employs its crew, and stands behind the result. The other subcontracts the AV to whoever is available and hopes it comes together on the day. They can look identical in a proposal. They are worlds apart on the event floor.
This page explains how we work, and why the difference matters for your event.

We own our equipment and our crew
This is the foundation of everything else. We do not subcontract our core production. The sound systems, LED screens, lighting, and staging are ours, maintained and tested between events. The technicians, engineers, and show directors are our own people who work together regularly.

That ownership changes the outcome in four concrete ways:
- Accountability. When one team supplies and runs everything, there is no one to point at if something slips. It is on us, so we make sure it does not happen.
- Reliability. We know the condition and history of every piece of gear because we maintain it. No surprises from equipment we have never seen.
- Quality control. The same crew that sets up an event has run hundreds like it. Standards are consistent because the people are consistent.
- Speed. An in-house team that knows the equipment sets up faster and troubleshoots faster, because nothing is unfamiliar.
Why outsourced AV is a risk
Many event planners do not own AV or AV production teams. They subcontract it, often to different vendors each time, chosen on price and availability. On paper this looks fine. In practice, it introduces the exact failure points that ruin events.
When AV production is outsourced, you get a chain of suppliers who have never worked together, setting up unfamiliar equipment, under a planner who is coordinating rather than operating. If the sound and the LED feed do not talk to each other, or a component fails, the vendors point at each other while your event waits. No one owns the whole result.
We remove that risk by being the AV company, not a middleman. If you are also planning the wider event, our corporate event planning is built on the same owned-and-operated model, so the planning and the AV production are never fighting each other.

How our process works
Every event follows the same structured path, which is how the result stays consistent no matter the scale.
1. Discovery. We start with your objectives, audience, date, venue, and the one thing that must go right. The plan is shaped by the outcome you want, not by a standard template.
2. Technical site survey. We assess the venue before proposing anything: acoustics, power, rigging points, sightlines, and connectivity. This is where problems are caught, weeks before they could become yours.
3. AV Production proposal. A clear, itemised proposal covering equipment, layout, crew, timeline, and budget. You see exactly what you are getting on av production.
4. Rehearsals and coordination. We run technical rehearsals ahead of the event: cue timing, AV checks, and streaming tests, so the live day holds no surprises.
5. On-site execution. A dedicated show director runs the event from setup to breakdown, and you have one point of contact throughout.
6. Post-event report. Operational notes and reconciliation, so the next event is even smoother.
You can see this process applied to specific formats in our full production and event packages and conference AV production guides.

Our crew
AV production is a people business as much as an equipment one. Our team covers every discipline an event needs: sound engineers, LED and video technicians, lighting designers, riggers, and a show director to run it live. Because they are our own people who work together often, transitions are smooth and communication on the day is quick and clear. An unfamiliar freelance crew assembled for one event simply cannot match that.
Redundancy built in
Live events have no second take, so we plan for failure and make sure it stays invisible:
- Backup equipment for critical components, ready to switch in without stopping the event
- Spare wireless microphones with proper frequency coordination
- Power backup, with generator or UPS solutions where venue supply is not enough
- A backup internet line for streaming, because venue Wi-Fi is never something to gamble on
- Tested, maintained inventory, so gear arrives reliable, not hoping-for-the-best
This is the layer cheap quotes quietly remove. It is invisible right up until the moment it saves your event.

Frequently asked questions
What does an AV production company do? It supplies and operates the technical side of an event, sound, video and LED, lighting, staging, rigging, and streaming, with a crew to run it live. Eagles AV owns its equipment and crew rather than subcontracting.
Do you own your equipment or subcontract it? We own and maintain our core equipment, and our technicians are our own team. That means one accountable group handles your whole event.
Why does owning the equipment matter? It means reliability and accountability. We know the condition of every piece of gear, the crew knows the equipment, and if anything needs fixing, there is no vendor to blame, only us to solve it.
Can you handle both planning and AV production? Yes. Our corporate event planning and AV production run on the same owned-and-operated model, so the two are never in conflict.
Do you cover events outside Nairobi? Yes. We deliver across Kenya and East Africa, managing transport, setup, and on-site support.
